Solid Surface Repair Kit

This repair kit is very similar to the Solid Surface Inlay and Seam Kit. The big difference is that the router bit has a 5° taper to it so that the repair doesn't fall through the counter top. A template is needed just as in the inlay kit. However, the procedure for routing is a little different. This tempate is first attached to the counter top needing the repair. Then, with a special collar installed on the template guide provided, you route around the inside of your pattern throwing the inside away. Next you move the template to the material you will make the repair from, except this time you will flip the template upside down before routing. This needs to be done since the inlay will need to be flipped over to fit into the repair. The repair kit comes with complete instructions. Test this repair kit on scrap material before starting the job.
