38A

Kinik moulding, planer and chipper knife wheels are manufactured using 38A white aluminium oxide abrasive with a clay bonding and are a distinctive orange colour. Form holding properties make these ideal for saw sharpening and profile grinding.

These wheels are avaialble in a wide variety of sizes , shape and specifications to suit your needs. To veiw the Thode Industrial abrasives catalogue please click (here).

White Alumnium Oxide. (WA)

These wheels are manufactured using fast cutting white aluminium oxide which is a more friable alternative to the 38A wheel. It maintains its cutting ability by self fracturing. As the grain fractures and breaks down new cutting points are expoesed. The increased cutting ability causes the wheel to wear faster than a 38A wheel. White alumnium oxide wheels are suitable for grinding hard steel and tool sharpenong applications.

These wheels are available in a wide variety of sizes , shape and specifications to suit your needs. To veiw the Thode Industrial abrasives catalogue please click (here).

Blue Ceramic Grain (KG)

This type of wheel is manufactured using a mixture of aluminium oxide and ceramic grain. Ceramic grain wheels are Thodes premier bonded abrasive for the grinding of very hard metals such as high speed steel (HSS) and hardened die steels such as D2 (40-60HRC).  There are a range of concentrations to suit your individual requirements. 50kg equals 50% ceramic grain content and 50% aluminium oxide. 30Kg equals 30% ceramic grain with 70% white aluminium oxide. Advantges of ceramic grain over conventional wheels include

  • Increased dressing intervals
  • Less machine downtime
  • Longer wheel life
  • Higher cutting speeds are achievable without burining the worpiece. (cool cutting).
  • Overall faster throughput achieves increased productivity and lowers per uinit cost.

These wheels are available in a wide variety of sizes , shape and specifications to suit your needs. To veiw the Thode Industrial abrasives catalogue please click (here).

Yellow MA wheels.

This type of wheel is a very durable alternative to the white aluminium oxide and 38A wheels. It has the sharpness of the WA wheel  together with the form holding properties of the 38A wheel.

These wheels are avaialble in a wide variety of sizes , shape and specifications to suit your needs. To veiw the Thode Industrial abrasives catalogue please click (here).
