SPECIAL OV
This type of treatment is the most common and widely used treatment for the surface of the HSS saw. A controlled oxidation process is used to develop a thin layer of iron oxide on both faces of the sawblade. When cutting, the friction developed and the iron oxide layer interact to develop a "self lubricating" quality. This type of saw is suitable for all general purpose cutting.
GOLDFACE
The goldface coating is a specialist coating that increases the surface hardness of the saw blade. The low thermal conductivity of this coating offers the blade protection from overheating caused by the friction of cutting.The golface blades have a low friction co-efficient and combined with the very hard surface coating allow the feed speeds to be increased by up to 50% higher than conventional blades.
